Create or claim the listing

Search your business on Google. If a listing exists, request ownership. If not, create one. Use the real-world name customers know — not a keyword-stuffed legal string that looks spammy.

Get the core fields right

Primary category should match how people search (e.g., Beauty Salon, Restaurant, Medical Clinic). Add secondary categories carefully. Set hours you actually keep. Add the phone number you answer. Confirm address or service-area settings based on Google’s rules for your business type.

Add photos and services that reduce hesitation

Upload real photos of the shop, team, and work — not only a logo. Add services or menu items that mirror what you want to rank and sell. Thin listings lose to competitors with proof.

Turn on conversion paths

Enable call buttons, website links, and messaging where appropriate. If WhatsApp is your close channel, make sure the journey from Maps → site/WhatsApp is obvious and fast.

Reviews and ongoing hygiene

Ask satisfied customers for reviews. Reply to feedback professionally. Update hours for holidays. A neglected profile slowly loses to active competitors even if your offline service is better.
